You will be part of a collaborative team that values customer obsession, operational excellence, and continuous innovation. Our remote-first approach allows you to work from anywhere in the United States while receiving mentorship from senior engineers and access to world-class development resources.
In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, and deployment of software solutions that power Amazon's vast ecosystem. You'll work with modern technologies and frameworks, participate in code reviews, and help maintain our high standards for code quality and system reliability. The position is perfect for recent graduates or early-career developers who are passionate about learning and growing their technical expertise. You will have opportunities to work across different services and teams, gaining exposure to various aspects of distributed systems, cloud computing, and large-scale software architecture.
We believe in nurturing talent and providing clear career progression paths. As an entry-level engineer at Amazon, you'll be supported by experienced mentors who are invested in your growth. You'll attend technical training sessions, participate in knowledge-sharing forums, and have access to Amazon's extensive learning management system. This is not just a job—it's the beginning of a rewarding career in technology where your contributions directly impact millions of users globally.
Who Should Apply?
- Recent Bachelor's degree graduates or professionals with less than 2 years of software engineering experience
- Strong foundation in at least one programming language such as Java, Python, C++, or JavaScript
- Passion for learning new technologies and solving complex technical problems
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
- Willingness to take on ownership and drive projects from conception to completion
Why Join Us?
Amazon is one of the world's most customer-centric organizations. Our culture of innovation means you'll never stop learning and growing. We invest heavily in our people through training programs, mentorship opportunities, and career development initiatives. As a remote employee, you'll enjoy the flexibility of working from home while remaining deeply connected to your team through our collaborative digital tools and regular virtual meetings. Amazon's engineering culture emphasizes sustainable pace, work-life balance, and psychological safety—we want you to bring your best self to work every day.
Beyond the technical aspects, joining Amazon means being part of a company that is reshaping industries and improving lives. Whether it's through e-commerce, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, or healthcare innovations, your work will have meaningful impact. We celebrate diversity and inclusion, actively encouraging employees from all backgrounds to bring their unique perspectives to problem-solving. Our remote-first model also means access to talent across the entire United States, creating diverse teams that drive better outcomes.
Work Culture
Our engineering teams are built on principles of mutual respect, collaborative problem-solving, and continuous improvement. You'll work alongside talented engineers who are generous with their knowledge and supportive of junior team members. Daily standups, sprint planning, and retrospectives ensure everyone is aligned and heard. We use modern development practices including agile methodologies, continuous integration/continuous deployment, and pair programming opportunities. The team environment is one where questions are encouraged, experimentation is valued, and failure is treated as a learning opportunity rather than a setback.
Salary & Compensation
We offer a highly competitive compensation package for entry-level software engineers. The base salary range for this position is $95,000 to $135,000 annually, depending on education level, specific experience, and geographic location within the United States. In addition to base salary, Amazon provides a comprehensive benefits package including stock awards that vest over four years, providing meaningful long-term wealth accumulation. Performance bonuses are available based on team and individual achievements. As you progress from entry-level to junior and mid-level positions over the coming years, salary increases and promotional opportunities align with your growing expertise and contributions. Many of our entry-level engineers see 15-25% salary increases within their first three years as they advance their careers.
