The AI Product Manager will guide the development of AI-powered application features, from identifying customer needs through launch and ongoing improvement. Working with engineering, machine learning, design, and analytics teams, you will define product priorities and evaluate whether new features deliver useful, reliable experiences.

The role combines customer research, product planning, and performance analysis. You will translate user feedback into clear requirements, prioritize opportunities, and help teams balance customer value, technical feasibility, cost, and delivery timelines.

Mandarin proficiency is required for regular product discussions, requirements reviews, and written collaboration with Mandarin-speaking colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Define product objectives and maintain a roadmap aligned with customer needs and business priorities.

• Conduct user interviews and analyze feedback to identify problems worth solving.

• Write product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

• Partner with engineering and machine learning teams to assess feasibility and development effort.

• Establish success measures for adoption, engagement, retention, and task completion.

• Evaluate AI features for output quality, response time, operating cost, and potential failure cases.

• Plan experiments and use results to refine product decisions.

• Coordinate feature launches, including testing, documentation, stakeholder communication, and performance monitoring.

• Investigate weak user experiences and prioritize corrective improvements.

• Communicate decisions and progress clearly in English and Mandarin.

• Work with relevant teams to address privacy, security, and appropriate use of customer data.

Requirements

• Three to five years of product management experience, including responsibility for shipping and improving digital products.

• Professional working proficiency in spoken and written Mandarin and English.

• Experience collaborating with software engineering, design, and analytics teams.

• Familiarity with AI-powered products and the practical limitations of machine learning or large language models.

• Ability to define measurable product outcomes and interpret performance data.

• Experience conducting customer research and converting findings into actionable requirements.

• Strong prioritization, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills.

• Ability to work independently within a distributed team.

• Availability for agreed collaboration hours across US Pacific and China time zones.

• Residence in an employer-approved US state and authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience managing consumer applications or subscription products.

• Working knowledge of SQL and analytics platforms such as BigQuery.

• Experience with experimentation, funnel analysis, and retention measurement.

• Ability to build simple prototypes using AI-assisted development tools.

• Experience defining evaluation criteria for AI-generated outputs.
